Hey guys! I hope you had a fun weekend despite the inclement weather here in New Orleans. I never know what to wear to festivals or events, but I do know what you should eat to keep you healthy and happy! Did you know there is a strawberry festival here in Louisiana? In typical Louisiana fashion, we celebrate strawberries like we do jazz, the French Quarter, and beignets. There are many reasons to celebrate and of course, eat strawberries, which are in season by the way. Aside from the sweet, delicious taste, there are numerous health benefits to this little red fruit.
A few reasons why strawberries should be included in your Whole Foods shopping cart:
Since they’re currently in season I’m trying to incorporate them into my everyday diet. I started using fresh strawberries in my morning smoothies and I also managed to use them in my protein pancake mix from over the weekend.
