fall sale items

10/25/2018

If I could I would SO buy everything on sale/clearance. I use to be the girl who would spend her entire paycheck on a weekend outfit... Now I try and put most of my "pay check" in the bank. One day my mom showed me how beneficial it was to save + invest my money and since then, I've been more financially efficient. I also saw influencers create amazing looks without wearing full pried items. From then on I knew that I could do the same; it might just take more work (which I'm willing to work for). Below are a few of my favorite SALE items this season. Enjoy!

Hello to that feel good weather! I woke up extremely motivated by the gorgeous weather God blessed us with so I decided to do a quick round up of my fall favorites for under $50! It was SO hard picking just five so I included a bonus piece. Comment below with your favorite!

Are you guys into baker boy hats?! I just bought one the other day and I'm now obsessed. I was hesitant at first but I'm so in love with how well they transition (jeans, skirts, and blazers). I also can not get over all this cheetah print for fall. Everyone's an LSU fan! ;)

chopped chicken and quinoa

10/10/2018

Okay guys, another quick and easy recipe that doesn't include (making) a sauce. I know I need to eventually get over my fear of sauces, but that just means more time in the kitchen. I feel like I need to dedicate one day out of the week where I do nothing but test recipes... Thoughts?

I'd also love to know which type of recipes y'all are interested in! For me I like to keep things simple. I love cooking on a regular basis for Garrett and I but I don't want it to take over an hour, make sense?

Ingredients:
  • Grape or cherry tomatoes
  • Quinoa (2/3 of a bag)
  • Two boneless chicken breasts
  • Balsamic vinaigrette (I used a little more than half the bottle)
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350
  • I prefer to let my chicken breast soak up the balsamic vinaigrette over night, using 1/3 of the bottle
  • Start by cooking the quinoa and cutting the grape or cheery tomatoes in halves
  • Once the chicken is baked, place the chicken in a chopper
  • Mix the chicken in with the quinoa, salt and pepper
  • Add 1/4 vinaigrette into the chicken and quinoa, mix
  • Add in your tomatoes and enjoy!

halloween makeup with beso

10/8/2018

You guys! Halloween is only 22 days away and I haven't decorated a single thing in my house yet. I did however, manage to shoot two different Halloween looks by October 2nd because #PRIORITIES! I really do enjoy expressing creativity so I love going all-out when it comes to my Halloween costumes. Is Halloween your favorite holiday?! Mine is actually the Fourth of July but Halloween takes a close 2nd.

Michelle, with Beso Makeup, has done my Halloween makeup for the last 4 years. She is extremely talented and a true artist. She also happens to be one of the sweetest #bossbabes I know. This year I wanted to serve up a scary but also affordable look, not joking. Get it?! My jumpsuit can be found here for less than $40 bucks + my shoes are under $80 (which I don’t think is that bad because you can wear them all winter long)! Don’t forget to book your Halloween makeup appointment and check out Beso's Instagram page!

oven baked hamburger goodness

10/1/2018

I've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen trying to come up with easy yet delicious meals that don't take forever to make. For some reason creating a sauce just isn't my forte so if there's something that I can whip up without one, I'm all in.

I've also been making a ton of meals that include ground turkey meat and cheese; so what else comes to mind in an oven baked dish other than a hamburger helper?! Avocado is a favorite of mine however shell noodles is something I try and steer clear of, carbs! The shell noodles were a nice change up plus I posted a photo of the exact brand I used below.

My mom wasn't the best cook growing up but she was one heck of a baker so any type of baked dish is no big deal for me, luckily! If you're a college kid or just a meal prep monster, this recipe is spot on for you! Recipe listed below.

Ingredients:
  • Lean ground turkey meat - 1 packet
  • Diary free cheese (I used 3/4 of the bag)
  • Shell pasta - 1 box
  • 2-3 Avocados (wished I would have used 3!)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Any type of cajun seasoning - I prefer spicy

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Start by cooking your ground turkey meat and shell noodles on the stove at a medium heat (I like my noodles *slightly* under cooked)
  • Salt and pepper the ground turkey meat
  • While you break apart your meat with a spatula, coat baking dish with coconut oil
  • Cut your 2-3 avocado's into chunky pieces
  • Once the noodles and ground turkey meat have cooked, place ingredients into columns
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes
  • Season with a cajun blend and enjoy!
