There has been so much chaos lately; It does not help that I am someone who gets overwhelmed easily! I decided to write this blog post because I myself NEEDED to hear these tips. I want to be able to BETTER process the crazy in order to stay in a positive headspace (and stay on those higher frequencies/energy levels). Sometimes it's HARD for me to accept the things I can not control. I end up dwelling over unnecessary things and miss out on happy moments. Figuratively speaking, I had to talk myself off the 'ledge' earlier today. Here are some tips in finding peace... 1. The 1st thing that happens is our reaction to new news. How should we react? I think we can all agree that we WANT to react in the best way possible but that doesn't always happen. Considering your hero and how he or she would react could be beneficial to how hard or heavy you carry your new situation/news. React in a PEACEFUL way so that you CAN move on. Sometimes we react absurdly and end up being embarrassed. You want to be at peace with your decisions. 2. Consider WHY things did not work out and value a possibility you would rather not be faced with even more so than what you thought you (originally) wanted. For example, I wanted to have a destination wedding and Garrett was against that idea from the very beginning. I tried to change his mind several times and every time I brought it up, he always said NO. Now with all of the coronavirus drama, I would probably have LESS people traveling or we may have had to cancel that 'out of the country' wedding. I'm SO glad that isn't my reality - silver lining. This example is probably the hardest to mentally/physically exercise (in the moment). It just takes more work. I feel that this step is a 2-step process. Step 2 is showing gratitude! Yes, I'm glad we are not faced with an out of the country wedding situation and because of that, I am grateful for... I have so many things I could list right here! 3. Usually if I'm suffering through it, it's because I'm harping over it in a specific environment or just taking it personally. I have to constantly remind myself that it is NOT personal... and I also have the power to excuse myself OR politely change the subject. Sometimes when you're stuck in the "vortex," (all of your classmates, coworkers, and or friends are dwelling over it) it's hard for you not to too. In order to not carry out that negativity throughout the rest of your day, you have to choose to walk away... Literally taking a break and go to the restroom or bring up something totally random that could shift you and everybody else's energy. When things don't go as planned, how do you successfully deal? My biggest goal for 2020 is to improve my sleeping habits. I tend to wake up 3-4 times per night, only getting about 6 hours of broken sleep. Not being able to sleep through the night is hard on the body, and I feel the affect it is having on me both physically and mentally. I know that I need to strive for 7-8 hours EVERY night in order to feel my best. With a wedding coming up, I definitely want to reduce the amount of stress I put on my body, and improving my sleep will help with that. Some benefits I'm looking to gain with better sleep habits include + Reduced stress levels and improved mood + Lowered risk for serious health issues + Improved productivity throughout the day My story with CBD (cannabidiol) began in November of 2019 when I purchased a bottle of Crescent CBD Drops (1000mg unflavored) from Simply CBD in Mid-City. After a while, I noticed that when I was taking the drops, my sleep did improve. I experienced deeper and more restful sleep with less tossing and turning and waking up throughout the night. I was hooked on them, because of how it was helping me, but I would sometimes forget to take the drops at the same time each day or just forget all together. When I forgot to take them or did not take them at the same time every day, I felt the difference! It was subtle, but I did feel it. So, I did some research to make sure I wasn't totally crazy! What I learned confirmed my experiences. I did not realize that taking them at the same time of day is imperative to gaining the full benefits of CBD. Not only is it important to take them at the same time every day, but it is important to be consistent and not forget! As with most things, consistency is key. My local retailer, SimplyCBD, confirmed to me that in order to feel maximum relief and benefits of CBD, I have to take them around the same time every day, so 9-10pm for me. Also, it takes about two weeks to feel a true effect, so stick with it and don't give up at first! I have definitely had better sleep since taking the drops consistently. But my CBD story is not as amazing as Garrett's! He loves heavy lifting and working out. You can catch him lifting heavy weights at least 5-6x a week. But he experiences extreme joint pain, especially for someone in their thirties. It was so bad, he was having trouble just getting out of bed. Even taking over the counter pain relievers was not helping to alleviate the pain he felt. I suggested (well told lol) him to try the CBD drops (1000mg of Mandarin Lime) and see if it would help. Sure enough, the CBD drops alleviated his pain. If any of you have joint pain, you know how debilitating it can be. He is such a big fan and believer in CBD because of how much it has helped him (stay tuned for extra strength drops). Since November, I have encountered so many people who experience joint and muscle pain who have had success with CBD oil and drops. There are so many science-backed, proven benefits from taking CBD, especially for certain conditions -
I also wanted to take a second and mention their CBD Freeze Roller! Unlike the drops, there's an immediate pain relief. A few weeks ago I hurt my wrist during a workout class. It was hurting so badly that I couldn't open my shampoo bottle. I knew I needed an immediate fix before seeing my Dr. about an X-RAY. The freeze roller is another reason why I'm hooked. I had immediate pain relief minutes after applying it to my wrist. If you're constantly working out, popping into various fitness classes, this isa product for you! I know that some people are still pretty hesitant about using CBD oil. They don't trust that it is THC free or if CBD oil actually works. I was very selective and did my research before buying a product, and I am here to tell you that not only has my sleep improved but Garrett's pain relief has been the best result I could have asked for. Here's a link to where I purchase my Crescent CBD drops and Freeze Roller. They guarantee high-quality, THC free products! Use my promo code: Milligan20 for 20% off your next purchase. Sharing a few success stories that pulled on my heart strings! I have constant headaches 24/7 which trigger migraines most days. My husband became quite ill 2 years ago and I became his fulltime caregiver which ramped up my anxiety and depression. Trying to maintain a cheery positive attitude to encourage my husband became almost impossible. A person on his support group had success with CBD oil so I looked it up for him but realized it might help me too. I tried micro-dosing the 1,000mg dosage bottle and when I got to the third drop my headache was completely gone. I thought I had found my ” sweet spot”! Half an hour later the migraine hit. I figured it was just a coincidence. The next morning I started with the 3 drops and I was hit with another migraine. So 3 drops all at once was too much for me. The next day I did 1 drop 3 times spaced throughout the day. The next morning I woke up without my normal headache and it has not returned. My anxiety is also gone. I have cut my anti-dpressants down to every other day and will continue to wean off them as long as I feel this good. After a week I did try to up my CBD dose to 2 drops 3 times a day but the migraine returned so evidently 1 drop 3 times a day of the 1,000mg is my “sweet spot” for now. Maybe in the future I can handle more and deal with the migraines but for now I am ecstatic to be headache and anxiety free. It seemed like we had tried everything for our son. At 4 years old the Dr said I was crazy for wanting a behaviorist to meet with my son. Come kindergarten he was kicked down to half a day within the first 2 days of school and will repeat kinder this year. He gets so angry, hits his sisters, can’t focus or follow directions without multiple prompts, studders or repeats all the words of a sentence until he gets it out (it’s like you can his brain moving too fast for him), not to mention night terrors and bed wetting. When we saw the behaviorist she said he has extreme ADHD. I’m not ok with putting my 5yr old on pharmaceuticals, so we started looking into CBD. It had helped SO much! I started by just watching a few FB groups and reading all the info I could find. We decided to go with full spectrum as that seemed to work better for most with ADHD. He won’t take medicine on principal, so we do drops in a small cup of juice. We started small and worked up, .3ml 2-3 times a day worked very well for about 3 months. No more studdering, night terrors gone, not so easily aggitated. Then it seemed we needed to adjust his dose so we did a total reset with no CBD for 4 days. Holy cow was that crazy! We had forgotten how bad his anger and defiance could get. We started him back on at .6ml which seemed to be another sweet spot, we have gone up and down from here but .6ml in the morning and .7 in the afternoon, another .6 in the evening when needed. He is still himself, just less flustered at everything. I’m so glad we tried CBD, it really has helped more than I expected. Two and a half years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare primary immunodeficiency disease called CVID (Common Variable Immune Deficiency). I will have to do immunoglobulin infusions for the rest of my life. Nine months after that diagnosis, I was also diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. That was on top of already suffering from migraines for 35 years and fibromyalgia for 25 years. I was needing prescription pain medication 4+ days a week and felt like I was barely functioning at that point. Honestly, I felt like giving up. That was when I decided to try CBD Oil. I was hoping at the very least, I would get some minor relief from my migraines or back pain that I also suffered from. To my complete surprise, within just a couple of weeks, I got tremendous relief from ALL of my pains: back, fibromyalgia, bone and migraines. After slowly working my way up to a dose that was good for me, I was able to reduce my need for prescription pain meds by 75%. I still have my diseases but CBD oil has made it possible for me to have a more functioning life. I don’t even want to imagine what I would be like right now if I had never tried CBD Oil.
