I've been an Earthsavers customer for a little over two years now and with each service, my experience seems to get better and better! Their staff is so caring and helpful, the spa is so peaceful and calming, and their bathrooms are ALWAYS clean (clean bathrooms is a BIG THING for me). Services I tend to book would be the LOVE facial, the hydrofacial, the four layer facial, and an over the top pedicure (rub my feet with all natural products any day). I can guarantee that the lymphatic drainage massage will be at the top of my list from here on out!
What is the lymphatic system? A system (consisting of both the circulatory and immune system) that rids the body of toxins, waste, and unwanted materials. The circulatory system basically supplies the body with oxygen and nutrients. The immune system protects the body from illness and disease. So let's talk lymphatic drainage! Just to note, it doesn't feel like a traditional massage. She presses down on certain areas, pumping my lymphatic drainage canals, and then pushing fluids toward (my drainage canals) to drain them. I peed before the massage and then felt like I could have peed again in the middle of the massage (I absolutely hate typing out the word pee but I want to be very honest about my experience). And even though it doesn't feel like a traditional massage, it was still extremely relaxing.
As you can see in my before and after photos, she was able to rid my body of toxins and reduce my water retention... Which I'm here for! Reducing my water retention was why I originally wanted to experience this type of massage. Aside from it being an extremely relaxing service, there is an added health benefit for me (and YOU)! I asked Krista, my massage therapist, a few questions which I'll list below. If you have any specific questions that I left out, leave a comment.
What are the benefits?
A lymphatic drainage massage is commonly used for its ability to:
Speed up healing and recovery during illness
Promote recovery post surgery/post plastic surgery
Diminish water retention
Decrease swelling in extremities
Ease symptoms in those with auto immune disorders (including fatigue, abdominal pain, and nerve pain)
Reduce stress and fatigue
Is there any down time?
No down time.
What areas of the body does this type of massage apply to?
For general detoxification lymphatic drainage is performed on the whole body.
If it’s post surgery, the area that has been operated on will be the main focus unless it's a longer service (80 minute session).
Is there a certain client who shouldn't receive this massage?
It's beneficial for everyone.
